American youngster William Rohan will make his UK racing debut in the GB4 Championship with Arden Motorsport at Silverstone this weekend (1/2 August).
The 17-year-old enters the series with experience of the car already, having participated in the official test at Snetterton in June.
There, the American was immediately with the midfield runners on pace, and impressed by registering the 11th fastest time in a wet session at the end of the first day, and was inside the top-15 on the outright quickest times.
Rohan also has single-seater race experience from a short spell in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship last year.
Across four races at the Virginia International Raceway and at the Alabama Motorsports Park, William took a pair of sixth place finishes, with his stint ending in a strong fourth place in the season finale.
He is now preparing for his UK racing debut, with seat time in Arden’s simulator forming part of his preparations this week before testing commences at the British Grand Prix venue on Thursday. William joins team regulars Michael Koh and Solenn Amrouche in the squad’s expanded three car line-up for this weekend.
