Mackie celebrates maiden single-seater pole

25 October 2026

Elite Motorsport's Harrison Mackie secured double pole this morning for the final two races of the inaugural GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton.

The Briton set a 1m49.581s to secure the overall pole, with his second-fastest effort just 0.004 seconds slower. Mackie was pleased with his improved qualifying performance compared to yesterday.

"We struggled a lot in qualifying yesterday, but we took everything we learned there and put it into today," said the 16-year-old. "The headwind played to my advantage because I don't have a lot of fear, so I was able to push as much as I could."

"It was good to set two laps so close to each other; I could have done a better lap on my last effort, but double pole is good."

With the first race of the day due to start 13:25, Mackie is fully-focused on what he needs to do to convert his maiden GB4 pole into a first victory.

"We'll focus on the start," he said. "If the speed is how it was [in qualifying], then hopefully we'll be able to stay in the lead, but you can never really plan a race."

Mackie has enjoyed his first weekend of GB4 action, having stepped up with the Elite Motorsport team with whom he finished as runner-up in Ginetta Juniors last season.

"It's been a massive learning curve," he said. "It's a bit different to what I've driven before – I did a bit of F4 a few weeks ago – but I'm getting used to it as I've shown in qualifying."
