Television coverage

The GB4 Championship will benefit from a superb new television and streaming package this year, making it easier than ever before for fans, sponsors and friends and family to follow all of the action.

GB4 will each run an eight-round, 24-race calendar this year, and all 24 of the championship's combined races will be broadcast live as part of a major upgrade for 2022. Every race will be available to watch free of charge on YouTube, Facebook and through the official championship websites.

Both series will run primarily on the high-profile British GT bill, and race footage from those rounds will be provided by long-time series partner Hayfisher Productions. However this year’s coverage will be significantly enhanced by a new arrangement with Onside Productions, who will produce a full TV-style broadcast for all GB3 and GB4 events in the UK.

The race weekend shows will include pre-race build-ups and post-race analysis, and offer followers of each championship more depth and detail, live from the track, than ever before. The live broadcasts will also feature special pre-recorded segments, adding more compelling context to the racing in GB4 this season.

Reporting from the pits and the paddock, talkSPORT presenter Jon Jackson will front the new programme. He will be joined by Lewis McGlade, an award-winning commentator best known for lending his voice to many of motorsport’s leading esports competitions.

The new relationship with Onside Productions will also ensure that live trackside coverage continues from the few rounds of GB3 and GB4 which are not part of British GT weekends. This means that from the very first standalone GB4 round at Snetterton on 2/3 April, you can follow all the action live and never miss a moment.

MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: “I’m enormously excited about our much upgraded television and streaming package for 2022. Our focus was to transform the live coverage, both in extent and quality – we know that followers prefer to have immediate information. Not only will GB4 as well as GB3 have live coverage of all races, but the build-up and post-race review coverage will set new standards for UK single seater racing. I have been personally involved in working up the format with Onside Productions and am very excited about our new shows, particularly with our talented new team of presenter Jon Jackson and commentator Lewis McGlade.

“The excellent Hayfisher camera crew will continue to provide great footage of the on track action and I’m delighted that the immensely experienced Nick Barnett will oversee our TV production direction, working with Onside’s talented and enthusiastic Steve Matthews and Tom Howe, who have a long background in the technical side of sporting television.

“We are focussed on helping our drivers and their sponsors. With much more scope for interviews and analysis either side of the on-circuit action, the stories from our drivers, their families, team personnel and more will all contribute to far more interesting viewing to a wider audience and great exposure for GB3 and GB4’s drivers and their sponsors."
