Biography

Multiple karting champion Marcus Luzio will make his first steps into car racing with the GB4 Championship this year, after confirming plans to enter as a privateer.

Driving for his family operated squad under the LUZIO.COM banner, the British contender, who hails from Lichfield in Staffordshire, enters GB4 after a stellar karting career that’s earned him several championship titles.

He began karting in 2017 at the age of 10, and he powered through the ranks, finishing third in the IAME Euro Series Junior X30 category in 2019, just behind Britain’s latest F1 star Ollie Bearman.

Two years later, and Luzio enjoyed a double championship success, winning the prestigious Bruno Ferrari Cup at the Kartmasters event, again in the Junior X30 division, and being crowned the Autumn Cup champion at PFI in the same category. He was also placed fourth in the International World Finals in the same year, after winning many of the heats and leading much of the final.

Success continued in 2022, as he won the X30 Senior Winter Cup in Valencia during his debut appearance in the category.

The 17-year-old has started 2024 in strong style too, as he currently leads the IAME Euro Series X30 Senior series following a superb opening round in Spain that saw him win six heats and claim the spoils in the final too.

Whilst remaining in karting, he’s now turning his attentions to GB4, having purchased a car from series front-runners Evans GP.
