Canadian driver Megan Gilkes is the fourth female driver to confirm her place on the grid for this weekend’s inaugural GB4 event, racing with Hillspeed. The 21-year-old is a W Series race winner courtesy of a triumph at Assen in 2019, where she headed home former Hillspeed driver Alice Powell in a thrilling finale.

Gilkes joins her younger brother at the team, with Nick set to compete in GB3 with the Derbyshire squad this year. Megan’s career has seen her race and win in several single-seater categories, including two successive years in the F1200 series in her homeland, before being signed up to the maiden W Series campaign.

She’s also raced in F3 Americas, F2000 and made regular Formula Ford appearances over the past couple of seasons, including appearances at the Formula Ford Festival. She’s also undertaken lots of driver development training with Hillspeed, and now races for them for the first time.
