Harrison hurries to top spot in first Oulton Park test session

28 March 2024

Elite Motorspot's Finn Harrison left it late to top the first GB4 test session of the week at Oulton Park this morning (Thursday).

The British driver registered a best time of 1m38.769s on his final tour of the Cheshire venue, and was less than half a tenth clear of teammate Alisha Palmowski, while Fortec's Linus Granfors was third quickest as he sampled Oulton Park for the first time. The top-three exchanged fastest times throughout the test, with all three setting their best lap with their final effort.

Harry Burgoyne was the lead KMR Sport runner, 0.079s further back from the Swede, with Branden Templeton the top Fox Motorsport contender in fifth.

Templeton was a quarter of a second clear of Arden Motorsport's Leon Wilson, who in turn was a fraction ahead of the second Fortec machine of Dan Hickey.

Aussie Jack Taylor put his Fortec car eighth, a quarter of a second ahead of Graham Brunton Racing's Canadian Callum Baxter, with Chloe Grant returning to GB4 action with KMR Sport, as she evaluates a possible move back to the series after contesting F1 Academy last year.

In addition to Grant's appearance, Idola Motorsport also made an official GB4 bow with young Polish contender Aleksander Mizera.

Two more GB4 sessions are due to take place today, scheduled for 13.10 and 15.40.
