Finn Harrison leads disrupted first test at Silverstone

25 April 2024

Elite Motorsport’s Finn Harrison topped the times in a disrupted first test session of the week on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

The British driver set a 2m11.341s early in the session, before it was stopped after a spin for series newcomer Bas Visser early on. Once the session resumed, rain had begun to fall, meaning there were no improvements late on.

Harrison therefore ended up almost two seconds clear of teammate Alisha Palmowski, with Arden’s Leon Wilson half a second further back in third.

Graham Brunton Racing’s Mayer Deonarine was fourth, 0.378s clear of Fox Motorsport’s Branden Templeton, with Deonarine’s teammate Callum Baxter sixth.

Idola Motorsport returned to action with Aleksander Mizera, who posted the seventh quickest time having also tested at Oulton Park, with race winner Brandon McCaughan the lead KMR Sport runner in eighth.

He was 1.3s clear of teammate and championship leader Harry Burgoyne, with Fox Motorsport’s Megan Bruce completing the top-10.

A total of 18 cars participated in the session, with Idola also joined on track by Flame Airikkala in her Preptech UK machine.
