What they said: Silverstone race two

28 April 2024

Linus Granfors, Finn Harrison and Leon Wilson were the top-three drivers in the second race of the weekend at Silverstone. Here's how each driver reacted at the end of the contest.

Winner, Linus Granfors, Fortec Motorsport:
"It feels great, it was a bit more chilled this race, but yeah it was rapid.

"It was a bit slippery, out of Stowe especially, but the other corners of the track were dry so I just tried to push as hard as I could without going off the track.

"This feels really good, I hope we can win many more. We’ll see what speed we have at Donington!"

Third, Finn Harrison, Elite Motorsport:
"It's definitely more rewarding that I had to fight hard for it. We were in with a podium at Oulton every single time but what happened, happened, and its good that we've finally done it. It’s been hard work, its definitely kept me on my toes.

"It feels good, we missed the morning race so it’s the long way round but to be there at the end of the day is very good.

"We had a few downs at Oulton but other than that its been all ups and really this is my first proper round. Being able to celebrate P2 with them [Elite Motorsport], its not the win, but it is definitely a lot better than being in the grass. It’s definitely big progress.

"I’d like to thank everyone who helped put the car together, Ed [Ives] especially and my engineer Sarah [Shaw] as well as my Dad who has been able to put it on the grid with the sponsorship. I’d like to thank the entire team."

Third, Leon Wilson, Arden Motorsport:
"This is absolutely amazing. It's probably one of the best feelings that I’ve ever had to be honest. I loved it.

"This one of the big dreams. Just hopefully I'll be trying to get first next time, bring it even more. I had a bit of a struggle in race one but we came back strong.

"At the start we had the wrong side of the grid so we lost the tyre temp quite a lot so as soon as we got to the end, I had a good fight with Harry. It was really good to get my racecraft up as well. I saw someone spin in front, then me and Harry were back and forth throughout all the laps.

"I’d like to thank the whole team and my family. Especially my mum and dad who have helped me through this a lot. And my sponsors to make this possible, Kingston Carton and Everquip Garage Company, just made it possible for this to happen and I’m really thankful for it."
