Elite Motosport’s Fred Green made the most of a slow start from pole sitting teammate Yani Stevenheydens to claim his fourth win of the year in Donington Park race one.
Green and KMR Sport’s championship leader Alex O’Grady both passed Stevenheydens off the line, but Green had the pace advantage and was able to pull clear early on.
O’Grady was just able to trim the gap as the race developed, and was brought back into striking range when the safety car was brought out at the mid-race point to recover the spun car of Solenn Amrouche.
Green made a good restart with four minutes to go, and led the remainder of the contest, with O’Grady settling for second to maintain his comfortable margin at the top of the standings.
He had the recovering Stevenheydens in his mirrors throughout, with the Belgian taking third.
