Grant delighted with maiden GB4 pole in Winter Series qualifying

24 October 2026

Douglas Motorsport’s Conor Grant claimed his first ever GB4 pole position in the maiden Winter Series qualifying session at Snetterton this morning, and the Irishman was delighted to break his duck.

His best time came on his penultimate lap of the session, pipping teammate George Proudford-Nalder to pole by 0.020s. While happy with pole, Grant thought there was more time available, but a late yellow flag at Coram scuppered the final runs.

“It was a good lap in the end, we got it in!” he said. “It was a little bit disappointing about the last lap in the yellow flags, but hey, that's racing. We got the lap in and it was pole!”

His Australian teammate had dominated testing before the weekend, but Grant was able to steal the limelight when it really mattered.

“George has been really fast all weekend. He's been very tough to beat, so I think a little bit of a surprise [to be on pole], but I knew if I did a good job, it was definitely possible. I think we did exactly that and here we are.”

He’s now aiming for his first GB4 win, having claimed a third and then a second place in the main season.

“We'll have to wait and see what happens in race one. Obviously, a lot of things have to fall on the place for that. I have to do my job again, but it's definitely possible and I'm really confident in the car. I'm really confident in the way we manage the tyre as well and the cold conditions. So I’m looking forward to it.”
