The first ever GB4 Winter Series takes place at Snetterton this weekend (24/25 October), with a new-look crop of young rising stars set to battle it out to become the first Winter Champion.
Be sure to follow all this weekend's action via the dedicated event website winter.gb-4.net. This is where the latest results, news and championship standings will be available.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of the race weekend.
What's the format?
The Winter Series event is effectively split into two events, on consecutive days, on the same weekend. In total, there are two qualifying sessions and four races, with two days of testing in the build-up.
Every race day features a qualifying session in the morning, with each driver's fastest times forming the day's race one grid, and second fastest times deciding the race two grid. The same format is repeated on Sunday, again with a qualifying and two races.
Unlike the 'Main season' there are no top-12 reverse grids, meaning every race this weekend features the same points system, with 35 for a win, down to one for 20th.
What else is new?
For each race day, drivers can nominate three slick front and three slick rear tyres to cover qualifying and the races.
Each driver may also nominate four wet front and four wet rear tyres per race day.
All cars this weekend will run from the pit garages, so the usual team awning set ups will not be present at Snetterton. This also means that cars will enter each session from the pits, as opposed to using an assembly area.
Each team can also run a maximum of four cars this weekend, compared to three per team in the main season.
Who is driving?
The Winter Series entrants are a mixture of drivers with GB4 experience, series newcomers with experience in other cars, and a group of five contenders who are graduating from karting and have never raced cars before.
