Hillspeed's Enzo Hallman sits second in the early championship standings, following a positive start to his second GB4 season at Silverstone, taking a clean-sweep of top-seven finishes across the three races.
The improvements from last season were apparent immediately. In 2025, the young Swede, who was still in title contention heading to the Donington Park finale, earned four top-10 qualifying positions.
But at the start of 2026, he put his Hillspeed car third on the grid for race one, and one better for race two. Both were clear improvements on his best qualifying result of ninth last year.
"We were strong all weekend and the positive feeling from pre-season continued" Hallman commented, reflecting on pre-season testing which saw him within the top-six for each of the final three tests. "The team did a great job and I feel really comfortable with the car. We have a good platform to build on."
A challenging start to the season opener meant he dropped to seventh at the chequered flag in race one, but he made amends in the second contest. He gave chase to eventual winner Fred Green throughout the race, which was interrupted by safety cars and a red flag.
"Second place was a good result, but I feel that there was potential for even more in that race.
"We had the speed to win and I felt quite a bit faster in the first laps. Unfortunately, the safety cars ruined that chance and we never really got to try an overtake.
"A good start to the championship though, and a nice reward to get this at the beginning of the season."
Hallman was one of the strongest drivers in reverse grid races last year, claiming 20 additional points for places gained in the weekend-ending races. And he continued that form at Silverstone, gaining five positions from his starting berth of 10th, as he climbed to fifth in the final classification.
His overall performance puts him in a confident frame of mind heading to Oulton Park on 23/25 May, where he was a race winner last year.
"All in all, it was a very good and stable first event" he concluded. "It's extra positive to be able to show this speed at Silverstone, which is a track I haven't really shown too well at before. It makes me hopeful for the rest of the season."
