Green resists O'Grady challenge for GB4 race one victory at Oulton Park

23 May 2026

Elite Motorsport's Fred Green withstood an early challenge from fellow front row starter Alex O'Grady to claim his third victory of the GB4 season in race one at Oulton Park.

The young Brit went wheel to wheel with O'Grady through several corners on the first lap, but just about held him off to keep the lead. The pair then circulated in close company for the tense 20-minute contest, with Green securing his latest victory by just eight tenths of a second at the end of 13 laps of racing.

The pair were never split by more than a second throughout, with O'Grady applying big pressure across the opening laps, with the gap at one stage being just over three tenths of a second. O'Grady set the fastest lap of the race in his pursuit, closing the lead back down to six tenths on lap 10, though Green had just enough in hand to secure victory by 0.785s.

Hillspeed's Enzo Hallman converted his third place starting berth into third in the race, and clear of Fortec's Thomas Ingram Hill who continued his string of fourth place finishes from Silverstone.

Pace Performance's Torrin Byrne climbed up to fifth as he banked his best GB4 race result yet, finishing ahead of Elite's Matan Achituv in sixth.

Hillspeed's Connor Willis moved past Fortec's Franciszek Cegielski for seventh on lap one, and finished four tenths of a second clear of the race's lead Rookie contender.

Elite's Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso benefited from a late retirement for Luke Hilton to move into ninth, with Scorpio's Archie Davies completing the top-10, rising four places throughout the encounter.

After the first four races of the year, Green holds a 20-point lead over O'Grady at the head of the championship.

Racing at Oulton Park resumes on Monday, with race one at 09.45 and the final contest at 15.00 local time.
