Alumni news: Palmowski heads GB4 one-two in F1 Academy opener at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

23 May 2026

GB4 alumni Alisha Palmowski and Megan Bruce finished first and second in the opening F1 Academy race of the weekend at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Saturday.

Palmowski converted pole position into her second F1 Academy victory, which moved her into the lead of the championship standings for the first time. The Red Bull-backed driver now has two podiums from the three races held so far in 2026, in the series which supports F1 around the world.

Meanwhile, her Campos Racing teammate and fellow GB4 graduate Megan Bruce secured her first F1 Academy podium in just her fifth race in the series. The TAG Heuer-supported contender started alongside Palmowski on the front row, and converted that to an impressive second place finish.

Palmowski's margin of 10.1 seconds is the largest winning margin in F1 Academy history, and has put her 19 points clear of the field at the top of the standings after the first three races of the year.

Another race will follow later on Saturday, with the third contest taking place on Sunday, in which Palmowski will start from pole again.
