Fox Motorsport's Jasser Iskander will be the first Saudi Arabian driver to race in the GB4 Championship, when he makes his series debut at Silverstone next month.
The 15-year-old has already had a few days of testing in the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car ahead of official pre-season testing, which starts next week, and he's eagerly anticipating his series debut.
"I’m very much looking forward to it" he enthuses. "GB4 is a big opportunity for me, and I’m eager to get on track, improve as a driver, and fight for strong results.
"I’m really excited and really proud. Representing Saudi Arabia as the first Saudi driver in GB4 is a huge honour for me."
Iskander has mainly contested karting series at a regional level, with interest levels in motorsport expanding rapidly in his homeland.
"The sport is growing fast, and the competition was strong, which helped me develop a lot."
Since moving out of karting, Iskander has been getting to grips with his new GB4 challenger, and he's made strong progress with Fox Motorsport.
"I’ve completed three test days so far, and it’s been a great learning experience, I’m really enjoying the car and the British circuits.
"Silverstone [is where I'm most looking forward to racing at], it’s an iconic circuit with so much history."
He's also embedded himself quickly within Paul McNeilly's Fox Motorsport squad, with things going "really well so far, they’re professional and experienced, and I’m excited to start working with them on track."
As for expectations for the year ahead, he's aiming to make an impression towards the front of the field when the opportunity arises.
"My main goal is to keep learning and to try to compete for podiums whenever I can."
