Fortec Motorsports' Thomas Ingram Hill topped the times on the first day of the Silverstone pre-season test for the GB4 Championship, as no fewer than 30 drivers took to the track at the home of the British Grand Prix.
Ingram Hill's time of 2m01.050s from the second of the day's three sessions was enough to put him just over a quarter of a second clear of Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing's Luke Hilton, with KMR Sport's Alex O'Grady third and less than two tenths of a second further back.
Elite's Fred Green topped the final session, but his time from the second test put him fourth overall, 0.163s ahead of the second Fortec car of Franek Cegielski, with Hillspeed's Enzo Hallman and Douglas Motorsport's Jason Smyth completing the top-seven, with Smyth the only driver in the top-10 to better their time in the final session of the day.
Pace Performance's Josh McLean was next up in eighth, 0.034s further back, with the second Hillspeed of Connor Willis, and KMR's Lily Watkins completing the top-10, setting exactly the same time as Douglas Motorsport's Dayton Coulthard.
With 30 GB4 cars on track, Tuesday was the busiest in the championship's history, with Scorpio Motorsport making its first pre-season appearance with Archie Davies and Romuald Bocquet driving, while Idola Motorsport ran a second car for Brazilian driver Alexandre Louza.
Testing continues at Silverstone tomorrow, with three more sessions.
