Megan Bruce is another GB4 graduate to be making the step to F1 Academy for the 2026 season, having been signed up by Campos Racing and TAG Heuer to represent them on the world stage.
Bruce enjoyed two competitive seasons in GB4, entering the world of single-seater racing with only one year of racing of any sort behind her, but made rapid progress and achieved a best result of fourth at Oulton Park in 2025.
Having also made a one-off appearance in F1 Academy last year, the anticipation is rising ahead of hr debut full campaign in the series, which kicks off in China this weekend.
“I’m so excited for the start of the F1 Academy season!” she enthuses. “Having my first taste of F1 Academy at Singapore last October, I can’t wait for all the new tracks this year, working with the team and racing alongside F1!”
Not only is she going to be racing alongside the top tier of motorsport, but will also be carrying the iconic logo of TAG Heuer, a marque that requires little introduction.
“I feel incredibly privileged to be part of a brand with such deep legacy in motorsport and supporting some of the greatest champions in F1 like Max [Verstappen] and [Ayrton] Senna.
“With TAG Heuer having such a big presence in Formula One, in the car industry, as well as looking up to my inspiration Max Verstappen also being part of TAG, to become part of the family myself, I feel so grateful for their belief in me and to get this incredible opportunity so quickly in my career.”
As Megan alludes to, her career has been brief so far, and she’s delighted to have earned a chance to perform on a global platform.
“To have just started three years ago to getting the opportunity to race alongside F1 is a dream come true.
“At the same time, I’m surprised but also happy that I’ve been able to prove myself and able to achieve this already.”
The bulk of Megan’s experience has come in GB4, making her debut with Fox Motorsport in 2024 before moving to champions KMR Sport for a sophomore campaign. She reckons GB4 was a vital first step on the ladder for her career.
“It was extremely valuable having the time to develop and improve as a driver. I think the first year was a bit early with a lot of new things as I’d only had one year or racing. But my second year in GB4 was a major step forward and we improved lots in each round as a driver.
“GB4 ultimately gave me the platform to learn and show my progress throughout the season, which got me noticed and the opportunity to race in F1 Academy!”
While a newcomer to F1 Academy, she impressed with the fifth quickest time in a pre-season test, and she’s hoping to make a strong impression.
“I’m confident I can learn and grow a lot as driver working so closely with Campos Racing.
“I’m really excited for Shanghai, it’s a cool unique circuit and so putting together everything I learnt from the first test will be good a starting point for the season.
”My aims for this season are to just keep improving and learning from Campos Racing. They have a lot of experience and success in F1 Academy so I’m hoping to improve and take in as much as I can with everything being so new this year, and push to achieve podiums and ultimately finish as top rookie.”
