Fortec Motorsports has confirmed that Franciszek Cegielski will join the team in 2026, making his car racing debut in the GB4 Championship.
The 16-year-old has built an impressive reputation in karting both in Poland and internationally. He claimed the Polish OK-N Championship title this year, having finished runner-up in OK Junior in 2024. Earlier in his career, he secured the Polish Rotax Max Challenge Junior crown in 2023.
On the international stage, Franciszek’s recent highlights include eighth in the OK-N World Cup, 11th in the ROK Cup Superfinal, and 10th in OK-N Senior in the Champions of the Future Academy, underlining his ability to compete at the highest level of karting. He has also contested full seasons in the FIA European Championship and the FIA World Championship in the OK category.
Across his karting career to date, he has recorded 11 victories and 22 podium finishes from 60 races, marking him as one of Poland’s most promising young racing talents.
Away from the track, Franciszek maintains a strong focus on physical preparation, combining gym work with interests in motocross, basketball, and kickboxing as he readies himself for the demands of car racing.
He joins one of the UK’s most successful single-seater teams in Fortec Motorsports for the 2026 GB4 Championship, a series in which the team has already claimed Drivers’ titles in 2022 and 2024.
Oliver Dutton, Team Principal: “Franciszek has an outstanding karting pedigree and a very composed and mature process for his age. GB4 is a big step, but with his work ethic and preparation, we’re confident he has the foundations to adapt quickly and develop into a very competitive driver. He stepped into the car for the first time in Valencia and was instantly on the pace, and I am certain he will be fighting for wins in 2026.”
Franciszek Cegielski: “I’m very excited to be making my car racing debut with Fortec Motorsports in the GB4 Championship. The team has a long history of success and provides the ideal environment for me to develop as a driver. My goal is to learn quickly, work hard with the engineers, and push to fight at the front and compete for podiums as soon as possible.”
