British racer Josh McLean will remain with Pace Performance for his second year in the GB4 Championship in 2026.
The 21-year-old joined the GB4 championship having contested just three car races beforehand, with an appearance in the Ginetta GT Championship at Donington Park, and an impressive best result of sixth place.
McLean then moved to single-seaters for the first time in 2025, and made good progress as the year continued. He secured a best qualifying result of ninth at Silverstone, while seventh at Oulton Park marked his standout race performance.
Despite having less experience than most of the grid, McLean finished all but one of the 21 races throughout the campaign, and now returns to the series with a full year’s knowledge under his belt.
Prior to a four-year hiatus, McLean had established himself as one of the UK’s top karters, securing seven titles in three years, including the outright British title in 2018. He is now back for a second year in GB4, ready to push on with a full year’s experience to recall.
Josh McLean: “Very excited to have re-signed with Pace for my second year in the GB4 Championship. Last year was incredibly valuable for me, and I can’t wait to get started with the 2026 season. Fighting for the top step on the podium is where I want to be, and I’m looking forward to putting all the hard work from the team and myself into action.”
Team Principal Sean Byrne: “We’re really pleased that Josh has elected to come back to GB4 with us next year. Considering he had close to five years away from racing before the start of the season, Josh did a great job to reacclimatise himself, and his performances improved steadily as the year went on. We’re confident that with his underlying ability, he will impress in 2026.”
