Demitri Nolan will transition from the F4 United States Championship to the ultra-competitive GB4 Championship this year, having completed a deal to drive for reigning Team Vice-Champions Hillspeed in the 2026 season.
The 21-year-old, from Fairview in Texas, is the first confirmed racer for the Markham Vale squad’s GB4 bid this year and he has established a very strong relationship with Richard Ollerenshaw’s outfit, having first tested with Hillspeed ahead of last season.
Nolan, whose motorsport career is guided by Niclas Jonsson’s KDE Management stable, enjoyed a strong maiden campaign in the F4 United States Championship last year, ending the season sixth in the overall driver standings with a best finish of third position at Virginia International Raceway.
In 2024, Nolan made his single-seater debut in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JS F4 Series) following a brief spell in karting. In his first car racing campaign, he concluded the JS F4 season 10th overall in the standings with a best race result of fourth place at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
Since the GB4 Championship was inaugurated in 2022 Hillspeed has been one of the true standout teams, taking 14 podiums in total in that maiden season including two race wins. After focusing exclusively on the sister GB3 Championship over the next two years, the Derbyshire squad returned to GB4 with a bang last season.
Daniel Guinchard claimed two victories and six further podiums on his way to third overall in the driver standings, while team-mate Leandro Juncos took one win and three further podiums en-route to fifth position in the championship. Notably, Hillspeed ended the campaign as Team Vice-Champions.
Richard Ollerenshaw – Hillspeed Team Principal: “We’ve known Demitri a good while now, having tested with him before last season, so we’re delighted to have signed him for his maiden season in GB4. We’re confident he’ll hit the ground running with his F4 experience, and the progress during winter testing so far has only confirmed that for us.
“Demitri had some very strong races in F4 United States last year and this will only help his transition to GB4. The level of competition will be a step-up, GB4 has fantastic strength in depth, but we really do have high hopes for Demitri in his first year of racing outside the US.”
Demitri Nolan: “I’m thrilled for this opportunity. It means everything to represent Hillspeed’s name and crew in my first GB4 Championship season. I’m grateful to Richard and Morgan [Ollerenshaw] and the rest of the team for their dedication to help continue my progress. We have been working with Nic [Jonsson] and KDE Management over the last 18 months to get me to this point in my driver development, and I’m thankful to everyone else who has helped to get me to where I am now.
“The last season [F4 US Championship] taught me some valuable lessons for sure, but it was also something of a turning point for me as a competitor. Between that experience and this year’s testing, I hope to continue improving, get to know the tracks, focus on what I need to, and live up to both my own expectations and the Hillspeed brand for the 2026 season.”
