Davies looking to follow in footsteps of notable Fiesta Junior graduates with single-seater success

12 February 2026

Fiesta Junior graduate Archie Davies is gearing up for his first campaign of single-seater racing in 2026, joining Scorpio Motorsport in the GB4 Championship.

The 16-year-old British driver was on track for the first time this year at the MSVR Season Launch at Donington Park on Tuesday, and he's looking forward to getting more mileage under his belt before seeing how this year's colossal field stacks up at the Silverstone season opener in April.

"I'm really excited to see how it is" he enthused. "It's going to be a bit different to what I'm used to and I'm keen to see how quick everyone is and what it's like on a race weekend."

Davies acknowledges that the move to single-seaters will take some getting used to, but he's also keen to point out that several drivers have enjoyed open wheel success after graduating from Fiesta Juniors and other junior saloon categories.

"It's definitely a massive step up from what I'm used to. At the moment I'm literally just getting used to it because obviously I've never been in it before and it's my first year.

"There's been a few [drivers] that have come up from Fiesta Juniors, even Tommy Harfield, he's a good one in British F4. He's was up there last year, so it seems like people from Fiestas are doing really well. Obviously, Joseph's [GB3 race-winner Loake] doing really well. He's driven an F1 car on one of the days, so they're quite inspirational for me."

Davies has now had a handful of days in the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car, including dry running on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit at the end of 2025, and then this week's test on the Donington Grand Prix circuit where he encountered wet conditions in a single-seater for the first time.

"It's going well to be fair, I'm happy that it was wet [at Donington] because I just needed a little bit more confidence in the car. I think we're quite happy where I'm at for now anyway, obviously there's still loads of learning to do. But yeah, it's going pretty good."

The Scorpio Motorsport team is a new squad for him to get used to, but he's hoping for a productive year together, especially with the added focus that comes from GB4's limit of three cars per team. He's aiming for a smooth 2026 campaign, with aims of a second year in 2027 to build on what he learns across this season.

"I'm really excited to be working with Scorpio, obviously they're a new team for me, but it's going well. I'm used to quite a big team where there's quite a lot of people and my team had seven or eight cars last year. Obviously it's Fiestas so it's different, but it's a bit of a change with new people, and I'm excited.

"This year is literally just getting to grips with the car. Hopefully I'm in the top 12 for this year. Obviously, I would like to be in the top half, but I don't jump to conclusions and if we can do a second year we will, and hopefully that year we can push a bit more."
