Irish racer Alex O'Grady heads into his second GB4 Championship season with confidence, after a strong campaign in 2025 that netted victory at Oulton Park and two other podium finishes.
Despite signing up for the season with just a couple of weeks remaining, the 17-year-old was still able to end the year in eighth place in the final standings for KMR Sport, but frequently demonstrated the pace required to finish even higher than that.
Now, with a full season behind him and much more time to test in pre-season this time around, O'Grady is looking forward to a second year with the team in 2026.
"I definitely think we are going into this year much more ahead of the game than last year, both from my side and the team side" he reckons. "We made huge steps forward last year with the development of the car, and I would say that I have a much better understanding of things when it comes to setup and feedback etc.
"KMR has always been front runners, winning multiple titles in GB4, so I know what we are capable of together. Last year was definitely more tough with the new car, and the fact that I only had two days of pre-season testing put us on the back foot.
"Kevin [Mills] and [son] Tom put lots of work into prepping the cars back at the workshop making sure everything is perfect, so I’m looking forward to putting all that hard work into results."
Having run as high as fifth in the standings heading into last year's final round, O'Grady knows he and the team should be figures at the front in 2026.
"If we can apply the learning from last year I think there’s no reason why we can’t consistently perform well. We are going to give it everything next year and try to maximise every opportunity we get.
"The testing I did post season in December last year was very positive, and we were able to gauge where we’re at compared to some other guys."
With the winter break almost over, O'Grady is looking forward to a busy pre-season, with official tests almost every week from March until the start of the season.
"The pre season testing is crucial to prep for the season ahead and it will be a very busy month for me in March, travelling back and forth between the UK and Ireland every week. I can’t wait for it though, I’m sure every day I do in the car will be worth it!"
