In her second campaign of GB4, Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing’s Caitlyn McDaniel has demonstrated plenty of progress.
Her first season in 2025 came off the back of literally just a handful of kart races, meaning she had a huge racing experience deficit compared to the rest of the grid. But now, with a full year behind her, and returning to circuits she’s previously raced at, the American driver has been able to begin her progress up the grid.
So far, the 19-year-old from Virginia has already equalled her best ever race result, and has demolished her gap towards the leading drivers, easily beating her previous top qualifying performance. She’s also beaten her points tally from last year, with three whole race events still to come.
Perhaps more impressively, she tops the charts for points scored via positions gained in race three across the season, with three more than any other contender.
“My race craft is something that is really important to me,” she acknowledges. “I’m just trying to find the last little bit of pace that I need to be higher on the grid.”
“Knowing I can fight when I have better pace and placed higher up the grid is encouraging. So now it’s just about learning where that pace deficit is and trying to find that last bit I need to be higher up.”
Snetterton is the venue where McDaniel first stepped into a racing car just over 18 months ago, and she is hoping that a return to where it all began yields even stronger results.
“I think I do better at the old school twisty-turny tracks, I think something about being closer to the walls and being a thinner track makes me excel. Every track is about learning and figuring out where you’re good, and finding ways to improve on the things you’re not good at. I need to find out on where I can improve, and that will be essential during testing.”
