Alumni news: Palmowski moves closer to F1 Academy title with Zandvoort win

23 August 2026

GB4 graduate Alisha Palmowski moved a step closer to clinching this year's F1 Academy title, with a dominant victory at Zandvoort on Sunday morning.

Form pole position, secured in qualifying on Friday, the 2024 GB4 runner-up held the lead off the line to fend off Ferrari-backed Alba Larsen on the run to Tarzan.

Larsen kept Red Bull Racing-backed Palmowski honest in the opening few laps, with the duo barely covered by half a second in the first half of the race. Larsen was able to get into Palmowski's slipstream on a couple of occasions, but was unable to force a move.

Then, in the latter half of the contest, Palmowski pulled away by a few tenths of a second a lap, and took the flag with a 2.7 second margin at the front.

The latest victory is Palmowski's fourth of the year, giving her a 48-point lead at the top of the standings with five races remaining across events at the Circuit of Americas and Las Vegas, with just over 100 points still up for grabs.

Palmowski's fellow GB4 alumni Megan Bruce and Ava Dobson also continued their maiden F1 Academy campaigns.

Bruce continued her positive season with a run to sixth place, solidifying her sixth position in the standings, while Dobson claimed 13th as she continues to build experience in the series.

The drivers have a two month break now, before the season run-in begins on 24/25 October with the Austin triple-header.
