The GB4 Championship reaches the 100-race milestone at Snetterton this weekend, with race three on Sunday afternoon set to bring up the century, at the circuit where it all began back in the spring of 2022.
Since that sunny April weekend, a total of 103 drivers have competed in GB4, racing for 20 different teams. 37 of those drivers have won races, while 63 have reached the podium. Here’s some of the key stats and talking points as GB4 prepares to hit the hundred.
The ever-presents
KMR Sport, Fortec Motorsports and Elite Motorsport are the three teams that have contested every season of GB4, and of those three, its KMR and Fortec that have entered at least one car into every GB4 race on record.
It’s no surprise then, that the duo are the top scoring teams in the series’ history, with KMR leading the way on 3720 points, and Fortec close behind on 3641.
KMR also leads the way on races won, having won 27 of the 97 GB4 contests held so far, while Elite has 23 and Fortec 18.
KMR has claimed a total of 68 podiums since 2022, with Elite just three behind on 65, while Fortec has crossed the half century mark also with 52.
A total of 12 teams have won races in GB4.
Biggest wins/smallest wins
Lucas Blakeley still holds the record for GB4’s biggest win margin, with a staggering 15-second victory at Silverstone in 2024. The F1 esports champion blasted away from the pack on the opening lap and built a big lead, with pole sitter and that year’s eventual champion Linus Granfors somehow holding second despite battling a bent suspension arm.
At the other end of the scale, Isaac Phelps’ victory in race five of last year’s battle at Silverstone remains the closest GB4 finish, with the British driver finishing just 0.129s clear of Japanese-Greek teammate Alex Kattoulas.
Mills tops multiple charts
2023 champion Tom Mills is the highest scoring driver in GB4 history. Having claimed 435 points on his way to fourth place in the inaugural season, he returned for 2023 and was a dominant champion, this time with 505 points.
The British driver also leads the most wins table, with a total of 12; two in 2022 and 10 the following year. He is the only driver in GB4 history to reach double figures in a season.
Mills also has more podiums than any other driver (22), has led more laps (116) and taken the most pole positions with nine, a record he holds jointly with 2022 champion Nikolas Taylor.
Qualifying margins
As GB4’s competitiveness has increased, so the qualifying margins have continued to tighten. Four of the five closest sessions have come across the past two seasons. 0.012s remains the closest gap between pole and second place, with that number being hit twice.
The first came in the fourth weekend of the 2022 season, as Taylor pipped Hillspeed’s Megan Gilkes to pole, while 2025 champion Ary Bansal secured his position at the front of the grid by the same margin at Snetterton last year.
Fred Green almost joined the 0.012s club at this year’s Silverstone opener, beating KMR’s Alex O’Grady to pole by 0.013s!
Oulton Park has produced very close qualifying sessions across the past two seasons, with the average pole margin in Cheshire across 2025 and 2026 being just 0.041s.
Even with GB4’s growth in competitiveness, there’s been some outstanding recent qualifying efforts. Few have been more impressive than Isaac Phelps’ domination at Brands Hatch last year, where he took pole with a margin of over half a second – the only time that’s happened in series history!
22 different drivers have claimed pole positions in GB4, scooping over £8,000 in prize money as part of the George Russell Pole Position Cup, with awards kindly provided by John Cavill.
Treble kings
Only three drivers have claimed a victory treble on a single GB4 weekend, with only two of those being clean sweeps.
Nikolas Taylor was the first to achieve the feat at Silverstone in 2022, as he won the first two races and then battled through the pack in the reverse grid contest during the sixth weekend of the year.
Evans GP driver Cooper Webster then repeated the hat trick at the 2023 Donington Park season finale, his cause aided by the absence of champion Tom Mills.
Talking of whom, that year’s champion also claimed a treble win during the earlier visit to Donington Park, but on a weekend with four races, he missed out on a unique quadruple, finishing fourth during the final race. The weekend featured an extra contest thanks to the carrying over of a cancelled race at Silverstone.
All the nationalities
The 103 drivers to have entered a race in GB4 have represented 26 different nationalities. A total of 47 British drivers have raced in GB4, with the USA the next-best represented country with 12. Five drivers have flown the Irish or Indian flags, and four have represented Canada.
New nationalities are being added every year, indeed the 2026 season features drivers from France, Israel, Venezuela, Singapore and Saudi Arabia for the first time!
A proving ground for up and coming female racers
GB4 has also established itself as one of Europe's premier categories for female racers to make their first steps into single-seater racing. Of GB4's 103 drivers so far, 14 have been females, with a total of 335 entries registered.
Female drivers have won six GB4 races, with Alisha Palmowski (three), Megan Gilkes (two) and Logan Hannah (one) the victorious trio. Gilkes and Palmowski have both claimed two pole positions, and the pair have shared four fastest laps, with Gilkes taking three of those.
Hannah, Gilkes, Palmowski, Chloe Grant, Jessica Edgar and Ava Dobson have scored 18 GB4 podium finishes between them. Palmowski is responsible for 11 of those - she claimed more podium finishes in 2024 than any other driver on the GB4 grid!
Six drivers have also used GB4 as a springboard to international acclaim with F1 Academy. Palmowski and Dobson are the first two drivers to have benefited from GB4's career contribution prize, which aided their graduation to the F1 support paddock.
In total, GB4 graduates have claimed 15 F1 Academy podium finishes, with five victories.
