Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing's Luke Hilton soared to a second win of the year after benefiting from lap one drama during the first GB4 Championship race of the weekend at Silverstone.
Hilton started third, but took the lead on the first lap after pole sitter Thomas Ingram Hill and fellow front row starter Fred Green made contact at Maggotts on the first lap. Ingram Hill pitted with damage, while Green opted to continue with a missing front wing before pitting a couple of laps later.
That drama allowed Hilton to build up a big lead of over two seconds on the opening tour, with that margin proving more than enough to secure another win to add to his Donington Park triumph, despite pressure from Douglas Motorsport's Conor Grant in the closing stages.
The Irishman was another to move up the order from fifth on the grid at the start, finishing second on the road, and at one point was less than a second behind Hilton, but picked up a penalty for track limits and dropped to third at the chequered flag.
That promoted KMR Sport's championship leader Alex O'Grady to second place, benefiting even more to open up a big lead at the top of the standings.
Pace Performance's Josh McLean joined the battle at the front on the opening lap, but was demoted to fourth, but still earned his best 'main race' result.
Elite's Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso took fifth ahead of Hillspeed's Enzo Hallman, but the Swede picked up a track limits penalty and dropped down the order to 11th at the flag.
Dayton Coulthard therefore claimed sixth for Douglas Motorsport ahead of Fortec's Franciszek Cegielski, with Connor Willis (Hillspeed), John O'Donnell (Pace) and Matan Achituv (Elite) completing the top-10.
With Green failing to score points, O'Grady's championship lead now stands at 32 points over Hilton, with Hallman third and only three points further back. Green has dropped to fourth in the standings, five points further adrift.
