Elite Motorsport's Fred Green is the early leader of the George Russell Pole Position Cup, after starting the opening two races of the 2026 GB4 Championship season from pole position.
The British driver had qualified second for both contests, but was moved up to pole for races one and two, after original pole-sitter Luke Hilton was disqualified from the results for yellow flag violations.
That meant Green secured the double pole instead, with the race one grid formed by each driver's fastest times in qualifying, and race two formed by the second quickest times of each contender.
With £150 and a trophy on offer for each pole position this year, Green walked away from Silverstone with £300 in prize money. He converted both poles into imperious victories, as he marched into an early championship lead.
The driver with the most poles at the end of the season will win the George Russell Pole Position Cup and an additional prize of £1,000. The team of the driver with the most poles will win the David Poole Warren Pole Position Cup, and a further £1,000 prize.
Awards are presented at each round by John Cavill, who has played a major role in supporting drivers in MSV’s championships since 2013, and beyond that with many other contenders who have gone on to become leading names in the sport.
