Last lap Coulthard wins in dramatic GB4 Silverstone finale

26 April 2026

Dayton Coulthard pulled off a last lap move that proved vital as he claimed victory in the final GB4 race of the weekend at Silverstone, with on the road winner Romuald Bocquet penalised for a jump start.

Bocquet had led the entire contest, contending with two safety car periods, with one of those becoming a red flag.

The Frenchman's first start was exemplary as he held the lead, but at the restart, he visibly jumped before the red lights, which would ultimately cause his fall down the order despite crossing the line first.

Coulthard had been feisty all race, and across a one lap restart after a late safety car in the second part of the race, made a move stick on Elite's Matan Achituv, having gone wheel to wheel for several corners.

Bocquet crossed the line with a few car lengths in hand, but fell to 16th once the penalty was applied, with Coulthard winning as a result, ahead of Achituv and Scorpio's Archie Davies.

Coulthard's teammate Jason Smyth clinched fourth ahead of Elite's Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso, with Hillspeed's Enzo Hallman sixth.

Arden's Charlie Myers, KMR's Alex O'Grady, Hillspeed's Connor Willis, and Pace Performance's Torrin Byrne completed the top-10.

Bocquet looked assured in the first half of the race as he built a decent margin, but the race was red flagged midway through after Holly Miall went off at Club on midway through the contest.

Upon the restart, Bocquet led the pack again down to Copse, but this time had been too keen at the lights, and was eventually penalised, paving the way for Coulthard, who had started sixth on the original grid, to claim a second GB4 victory, following his triumph at Donington Park during last year's season finale.
