Fred Green claimed his second GB4 Championship race win of the season opening weekend, in a shortened race two on Sunday morning.
The McLaren Elite Pathway driver took his second successive lights-to-flag victory, in a race which was red-flagged towards the end of the contest with cars stranded in the gravel at Luffield and insufficient time remaining to get racing back underway. The results were consequently brought back to the last completed racing lap: lap four.
The race was interrupted by an opening lap safety car after multiple incidents. Archie Davies retired at the opening corner, before there were spins for Dayton Coulthard (Douglas Motorsport) and Torrin Byrne (Pace Performance) at Maggots – the latter retiring from the race as a result.
The second safety car ultimately led to the conclusion of the race, with Archie Bullard (Fox Motorsport) initially spinning at Luffield, before there was separate contact between Holly Miall (KMR Sport) and Enzo Rujugiro (Fox).
Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman and Douglas’ Jason Smyth completed the podium alongside Green, with Ingram Hill an unfortunate fourth. Ingram Hill had overtaken Smyth for third after the Irishman made an error late on, but with results pulled back, he dropped back to fourth.
Matan Achituv (Elite Motorsport) impressed with a fifth-place finish, overtaking Alex O’Grady (KMR) on lap four with a daring move. Having hung it around the outside at Stowe, Achituv had the inside line into Vale and completed the overtake on the Irishman. O’Grady had started fourth but dropped behind Ingram Hill on the opening lap, ultimately finishing sixth.
Romuald Bocquet (Scorpio Motorsport), Connor Willis (Hillspeed), Josh McLean (Pace) and Conor Grant (Douglas) completed the top-10, with Luke Hilton gaining another 17 places to finish in 11th – taking his overtake tally to 37 following his disqualification from qualifying.
