Fortec Motorsports’ Jack Taylor remains in with a shout of claiming the 2025 GB4 Championship title at the season-ending Donington Park event on 4/5 October, and the Australian driver is relishing the prospects of getting involved in the fight towards the front.
Taylor has enjoyed a much-improved season in GB4 this year, with a sensational double victory at Silverstone being the highlight of his campaign.
With four races to come at Donington, including the rescheduled Brands Hatch race three, in which Taylor is set to start from the front row, he just about remains in the title fight, but would need to win all four races with championship leader Dan Guinchard failing to score all weekend.
Even so, the 17-year-old is fired up for the event, as he hunts more victories.
“I’m excited, I obviously like Donington Park so it’s not the worst thing having the race cancelled at Brands Hatch and having it at Donington instead!
“I’m still excited, I mean anything can happen in the championship. I think I’m quite strong at Donington, at the start of the year I did quite well and I think I’ll be stronger this time, so I’m looking forward to it.”
Having made his GB4 debut last year, Taylor made strong progress and took a first podium at Silverstone. In 2025, and with a much bigger grid to contend with, he’s made a clear step forward with his speed and results, quadrupling his podium haul in the process. His qualifying pace is also much improved, resulting in four front row qualifying performances, including his Silverstone pole double.
“I think I’ve been quite quick all year, especially in the recent couple of rounds. I think keeping it clean for me now, I’ve had a lot of incidents in the races that have kind of taken me away from the [realistic] championship fight, so just keeping it clean is the main thing.”
With the pressure largely off, Taylor is aiming for the best results possible at Donington to end his ever-improving year on a high.
“I’m just going to be aiming for pole position, and then just try and win from there. I’ll obviously try and win the extra race as well, as I’ll be starting from second.”
