Multiple race-winner Lucas Blakeley will join Douglas Motorsport for the GB4 Championship finale at Donington Park this weekend (4/5 October).
The 24-year-old Scot has previously raced in selected GB4 rounds in 2023 and 2024, winning four races last year as he shot up to fifth in the standings despite missing the first half of the season.
In 2023, he raced in Formula Ford, taking his first victory in the National Formula Ford 1600 series at Brands Hatch.
Blakeley is also a veteran of the Formula One Esports Series, racing with Aston Martin in 2021 – where he finished third in the driver’s championship – and switching over to McLaren Shadow in 2022, where he won the championship. He continued to race with McLaren Shadow until 2025.
His success in the digital arena led to him competing in the Race of Champions for two consecutive years, defeating Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas and Mika Hakkinen in separate contests, as well as claiming the 2023 eROC title.
Team Principal Wayne Douglas: “We’re delighted to welcome Lucas to the team and see him back in the GB4 car. He’s a talented driver and the team is ready to give it their all for the season finale, so I’m looking forward to seeing what this weekend brings.”
Lucas Blakeley: “I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to race with Douglas Motorsport and I want to extend a massive thank you to Wayne and team. It’s been just over a year since my last GB4 race and I’m excited to get out there this weekend!”
