Championship leader Guinchard: "if we can finish the season as we started we will be completely fine"

01 October 2025

Hillspeed's GB4 Championship leader Dan Guinchard is fired up ahead of the Donington Park decider this weekend, and heads into the event inspired by a tour of the Prodrive facility in Banbury, provided by John Cavill.

Guinchard was able to get an exclusive look at the world class facility, which houses the iconic organisation's famed rally, sports car and Dakar programmes, as well as a collection of famous championship-winning machinery.

"It was really nice to see all the cars and all the class leading facilities they have at Prodrive, it's totally ahead of the game and thanks to everyone at MSV and especially to John for arranging it. It was a great day out," Guinchard beamed after setting a new lap record on the Prodrive Racing Simulator.

It was a suitable way to unwind ahead of a hectic season finale, with four races on this weekend's schedule. Guinchard though is fired up, and vows to fight hard to maintain his championship lead as he bids to claim his first single-seater crown.

"I'm looking forward to it, I think four races will make it nice and interesting and may the best man win!

"I'll always have to go for it, because that's just how I am, we'll just take it step by step, see how the testing goes on, move onto qualifying and then plan a bit for how we're going to execute the races."

Guinchard's name has been at the top of the standings at every round so far this season, and heads into the event buoyed by his performance at the season opening event at the same circuit back in April.

"It's been nice to have been leading after every round, which has been a nice surprise, and I'm really looking forward to the final weekend. We were very close at the start of the year [at Donington] and came out of the weekend leading the championship right from the very start. So if we can finish the season as we started we will be completely fine."

He heads into the event with a championship lead of over 20 points, and is targeting wins to make his task easier against Elite Motorsport's rapid title challenging trio of Isaac Phelps, Ary Bansal and Alex Kattoulas.

“I’m still leading by over 20 points so I’m really happy to have that buffer and we’ll see how it goes. We have been the only car that can even get close to Elite so it’s good to be in the fight and hopefully we can find a little bit for Donington and be fighting for the wins."

The tour at Prodrive was provided by long-time GB3 Pole Position Cup Award founder John Cavill, and we express our thanks for his continued generosity and support of drivers in MSV championships.
