Hillspeed's championship leader Dan Guinchard became the third driver this year to claim a GB4 pole position double in qualifying, with his rapid efforts at Oulton Park.
Guinchard entered qualifying as a favourite to top the times having dominated pre-event testing, and duly secured his first single-seater pole positions.
His best lap of 1m34.806s secured him pole position for race one, putting him 0.039s clear of title rival Alex Kattoulas at the top of the times.
With the grid for race two set by each driver's second fastest times, Guinchard's next best lap of 1m34.837s secured him the first grid slot for the second contest also, which he duly converted into his second win of the campaign.
With £150 on offer for each pole, Guinchard earned £300 from his weekend exploits, putting him level at the top of the standings with Elite Motorsport duo Kattoulas and Isaac Phelps.
The driver with the most poles at the end of the season will win the George Russell Pole Position Cup and an additional prize of £1,000. The team of the driver with the most poles will win the David Poole Warren Pole Position Cup, and a further £1,000 prize.
Awards are presented at each round by John Cavill, who has played a major role in supporting drivers in MSV’s championships since 2013, and beyond that with many other contenders who have gone on to become leading names in the sport.
