Hillspeed's Daniel Guinchard, Leandro Juncos and KMR Sport's Alex O'Grady were the top-three in the second race of the weekend at Oulton Park. Here's how the lead trio reacted at the end of the contest.
Winner, Daniel Guinchard, Hillspeed:
"It feels amazing to win in conditions like that where it was topsy turvy, safety car restarts, oil on the track. And it was nice to win by a little bit of a margin as well, and a massive shout out to Leandro, he drove a fantastic race to get P2. It's a massive result for the team.
"I had a really good start and managed to get a gap straight off the start, and then looked in my mirrors and saw that Leandro was fighting to P2, and I thought 'that's fantastic'. It just shows how good a car we have all round, in all different conditions that were thrown at us and we were the best of everyone on the grid.
"As the leader you're always hitting the conditions first and it was changing every lap. So it was a dice roll of how hard do you go in, what bias do I go with and I was playing around with it all through the race. I'm really pleased with the result.
"If it's wet, anything can happen [in race three]. We could be on for a podium again, so really looking forward to it."
Second, Leandro Juncos, Hillspeed:
"Not too bad, not too bad! I knew we had to get the moves early on, you can't really overtake here so I had to be aggressive. I knew where I wanted to place the car, there were a couple of opportunities and I just took advantage of it and was able to stick with it.
"I'm not sure how I managed it [the weather conditions], and on Saturday I went off, so I've not had much practice. The car was mega, we should probably have done this for race one but we missed it with the tyre. But the car has been mega all weekend, and conditions get tricky it's a bit easier for me because it levels the playing field. So I'm just happy with the result.
"It was a mega race, the best of racing with rain, slick tyres, nothing more fun!"
Third, Alex O'Grady, KMR Sport:
"It was a great race again, I think it was a good job we saved the slicks for today, and I think we definitely had a bit of a tyre advantage over everyone. The Elites seemed to be sliding around everywhere and I did two of them around the outside. I managed to work my way to P3 and the pace looked really strong. I definitely felt I could have caught Guinchard if I was ahead of Juncos, but the next race...
"I think Juncos might have overtaken Kattoulas on the yellow flags so there might be a penalty coming, so I wasn't taking any risks, braking on the outside and going off. So I just sat in P3 and took the result.
"After Silverstone were nowhere, 60 points behind and then we halved that gap on Saturday. Now we're closing on the Elites as well, so it's looking very good."
