The GB4 Championship returns to Silverstone this weekend, as another big grid gets set for the challenges of the mighty Grand Prix circuit.
A colossal line-up of 25 drivers is expected this weekend, with the returns of Luca Magnussen (Fortec) and Mayer Deonarine (Graham Brunton Racing) growing the grid back up to joint-record levels.
As he’s done at the end of every event so far, Hillspeed’s Dan Guinchard is the championship leader, as the fight for the £50,000 end of year prize starts to heat up. The Polish-British contender has put together a superb campaign to this point, with podiums at each venue visited and wins at Silverstone and Oulton Park. A pair of podiums at Snetterton maintained his 36-point margin at the head of the field, more than a race win equivalent.
Elite Motorsport’s Ary Bansal is his nearest challenger following the Indian driver’s dream weekend at Snetterton last time out, where he took two pole positions and two wins, leading every lap across both. Only a collision in race three stopped him gaining more points, but he still surged up into second place in the standings.
Another podium for Bansal’s teammate Isaac Phelps kept the Brit well in contention towards the top of the standings, with the top three the only contenders so far to have claimed more than one victory in 2025.
The third Elite Motorsport car of Alex Kattoulas is next up, 10 points behind Phelps and 28 clear of KMR Sport’s Alex O’Grady, who continues to mount a threat following his first win at Oulton Park.
Swede Enzo Hallman heads Douglas Motorsport’s charge, while Hillspeed’s Leandro Juncos continues to catch eyes with his daring overtaking ability on track. The Argentinean sits eighth in the standings ahead of Arden’s Leon Wilson, who claimed a breakthrough single-seater win at Snetterton with two moves on the first lap of the event finale.
Fortec’s Jack Taylor completes the top-10, the ever-cheery Aussie edging closer to his own first win with a second place last time out, and teammate Thomas Ingram Hill also moving up the order having claimed personal best results in Norfolk.
Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard claimed his first podium at Oulton Park in his first campaign out of karting. He’s equal on points with Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter, who could well have taken a first win at Oulton Park, while Pace Performance’s Stefan Bostandjiev rounds out the top-15 despite having missed a round while racing in GB3.
KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce heads the race to claim the €50,000 prize towards a potential F1 Academy drive for this year’s top female racer, and she’s equal on points with Bostandjiev’s teammate Josh McLean, who is making big strides in his first single-seater campaign.
Deonarine returns to GB4 action having sat out the Snetterton event, and will continue his charge towards the top-10, and he’s level with fellow North American Jason Pribyl, who steered his ADM car into the podium places here earlier this year.
After appendix surgery forced his withdrawal from Snetterton Magnussen is also back and out to continue his upward progress following his own maiden podium at Oulton Park. The young Dane is six points ahead of Arden’s Ava Dobson, with Fox Motorsport’s Holly Miall just a point further back.
Her teammate Caitlyn McDaniel arrives at Silverstone fresh from competing in Caterham races at Zandvoort last weekend, while KMR Sport’s Lily-May Watkins continues to make progress with the championship-winning team.
Snetterton newcomers Flame Airikkala (Pace Performance) and Dudley Ruddock (Arden) are back for more at Silverstone, with both claiming decent points hauls in Norfolk, while F4 contender Arjen Kraling makes a GB4 debut with Douglas Motorsport this weekend.
As ever, all the racing action will be streamed live via the official GB4 Championship website www.gb-4.net.
