Bansal's Snetterton double creates four-way tie in George Russell Pole Position Cup

Elite Motorsport's Ary Bansal claimed his first two GB4 pole positions in qualifying at Snetterton, creating a four-way tie at the top of the George Russell Pole Position Cup standings. 

In a tight qualifying session, the battle for pole swung between himself and teammate Isaac Phelps, with Bansal ultimately securing top spot by just 0.012s, the closest qualifying session of the year so far.

He also secured race two pole, decided by each driver's second quickest times, this time with a margin of 0.048s to Phelps.

With £150 on offer for each pole, Bansal earned £300 from his weekend exploits, putting him level at the top of the standings with Elite Motorsport teammates Alex Kattoulas and Phelps, plus Hillspeed's championship leader Daniel Guinchard.  

The driver with the most poles at the end of the season will win the George Russell Pole Position Cup and an additional prize of £1,000. The team of the driver with the most poles will win the David Poole Warren Pole Position Cup, and a further £1,000 prize.

Awards are presented at each round by John Cavill, who has played a major role in supporting drivers in MSV’s championships since 2013, and beyond that with many other contenders who have gone on to become leading names in the sport.
