Arden Motorsport's Leon Wilson went from third to first on the first lap, as the British driver claimed his and the team's first GB4 win in the final race of the weekend at Snetterton.
Wilson finished just over half a second ahead of Fortec's pole sitter Jack Taylor, with Graham Brunton Racing's Alex Berg third.
Following a delayed start after Callum Baxter stopped on the original formation lap, the race was reduced from 18 to 16 minutes in duration, and Taylor made a good getaway when the race finally got underway. However Wilson was on a charge, immediately passing Berg on the run to Riches, and then went up the inside of Taylor, coincidentally at Wilson corner seconds later to grab the lead.
The race was then neutralised under the safety car for several laps after a lap one incident at Oggies, when Elite Motorsport's double race winner Ary Bansal was wiped out of contention after Douglas Motorsport's Luke Hilton made contact under braking.
When the track was cleared, there was just four minutes of racing time left, just enough for three more laps, and Wilson made a strong restart to establish a small gap to Taylor. Taylor though had strong pace, but two fastest laps across the final two laps wasn't quite enough to overhaul Wilson, who secured his first victory halfway through his second GB4 campaign.
Taylor secured his second podium of the year with the runner-up spot while Berg in third held off the attentions of Taylor's teammate Thomas Ingram Hill, who attempted a move at the Brundle/Nelson complex.
Hillspeed's Leandro Juncos was the race's big mover, gaining three spots on lap one, and then two more on the restart lap, dispatching teammate Dan Guinchard and Douglas Motorsport's Enzo Hallman in quick succession to take fifth place from 10th on the grid.
Hallman wrapped up his weekend with sixth ahead of Guinchard, who extended his championship lead by virtue of finishing ahead of Elite pair Alex Kattoulas and Isaac Phelps in eighth and ninth, and further benefiting from Bansal's lap one retirement. He holds a 36-point lead over Bansal heading to the next rounds at Silverstone on 2/3 August.
KMR Sport's Alex O'Grady completed the race three top-10.
