Taylor's swift qualifying efforts create five-way tie in George Russell Pole Position Cup

04 August 2025

Fortec Motorsports' Jack Taylor claimed his first two GB4 pole positions in qualifying at Silverstone, creating a five-way tie in this year's remarkable George Russell Pole Position Cup battle.

In a tight qualifying session, with the top-18 drivers covered by less than a second, Taylor earned race one pole with a margin of a tenth of a second to newcomer Arjen Kraling, earning his breakthrough pole in the process.

He also secured race two pole, decided by each driver's second quickest times, this time with an advantage of 0.124s to Elite's Alex Kattoulas, and maintaining the record of a new double pole sitter at every round so far this season.

With £150 on offer for each pole, Taylor earned £300 from his weekend exploits, putting him level at the top of the standings with Elite Motorsport trio Alex Kattoulas, Isaac Phelps and Ary Bansal, plus Hillspeed's championship leader Daniel Guinchard.

The driver with the most poles at the end of the season will win the George Russell Pole Position Cup and an additional prize of £1,000. The team of the driver with the most poles will win the David Poole Warren Pole Position Cup, and a further £1,000 prize.

Awards are presented at each round by John Cavill, who has played a major role in supporting drivers in MSV’s championships since 2013, and beyond that with many other contenders who have gone on to become leading names in the sport.
