GB4 race 2: Phelps fends off first lap challenge to double up at Brands Hatch

24 August 2025

Isaac Phelps claimed his second GB4 Championship win of the weekend at Brands Hatch in race two this morning (Sunday), but only after an early fight with championship leader Dan Guinchard.

Phelps made a good start from pole, but fellow front row starter Guinchard looked to challenge for the lead down Pilgrims Drop and into Hawthorns, with the Hillspeed car edging ahead on the approach.

But Phelps was able to hold the inside line, and in the process, the second Elite car of Ary Bansal was able to squeeze past Guinchard and into second.

Phelps took full advantage and pulled clear at the front, lapping up to a second a lap quicker than the field to secure his fourth win of the season by over nine seconds, while championship leader Guinchard had to settle for third, swarming all over the back of Bansal's car throughout the contest.

Behind the top-three came Arden's Leon Wilson, who found his way past Elite's Alex Kattoulas on the first lap, while KMR's Alex O'Grady was sixth, and avoiding drama at Graham Hill Bend which accounted for Hillspeed's Leandro Juncos, while ADM's Jason Pribyl was also a lap one victim.

Fortec's Thomas Ingram Hill was seventh and in the train of cars behind Wilson, with Fortec's Jack Taylor passing Douglas Motorsport's Dayton Coulthard on the final lap.

Pace Performance's Stefan Bostandjiev completed the top-10, holding off KMR's Megan Bruce and Douglas Motorsport's Enzo Hallman.
