Kattoulas joins GB4 George Russell Pole Position Cup party

29 April 2025

Elite Motorsport’s Alex Kattoulas was the driver to beat in qualifying at Silverstone, as he claimed both poles on offer at the home of the British Grand Prix. In doing so, he drew level at the top of this year's George Russell Pole Position Cup standings, joining teammate Isaac Phelps with two poles apiece.

His fastest qualifying time of 2m00.337s put him 0.159s clear of Phelps in the session, as Elite locked out the top-three positions.

With the grid for race two formed by each driver's second quickest qualifying times, Kattoulas topped that chart too, with his next best time of 2m00.502s, again 0.15s ahead of Phelps.

With £150 and a trophy on offer for each pole position this year, Kattoulas walked away from Silverstone with £300 in prize money. He converted race one pole to his first single-seater race victory, before taking second place in race two, as he joined in the Elite intra-team scrap at the front of the pack.

The driver with the most poles at the end of the season will win the George Russell Pole Position Cup and an additional prize of £1,000. The team of the driver with the most poles will win the David Poole Warren Pole Position Cup, and a further £1,000 prize.

Awards are presented at each round by John Cavill, who has played a major role in supporting drivers in MSV’s championships since 2013, and beyond that with many other contenders who have gone on to become leading names in the sport.
