GB4 Qualifying: Kattoulas on pole at Silverstone

26 April 2025

Elite Motorsport's Alex Kattoulas recorded the quickest time in GB4 qualifying at Silverstone, and secured his first two pole positions in the process.

The Japanese-Greek contender posted a 2m00.337s effort in the 15-minute session, putting him 0.159s clear of teammate Isaac Phelps, with Douglas Motorsport's Luke Hilton third on the race one grid.

Multiple drivers took turns at the top of the times, with both Phelps and Hilton enjoying spells at the top, but Kattoulas kept putting himself at the front, and took a hold of the session in the final five minutes.

The top-three of Kattoulas, Phelps and Hilton were covered by less than two tenths, while fourth place Ary Bansal was just 0.007s further back.

Fortec's Jack Taylor threatened another front row start, but was still a competitive fifth, 0.012s ahead of Arden's Leon Wilson, who was a Silverstone podium finisher last year.

Douglas Motorsport's Dayton Coulthard banked his best GB4 qualifying result yet with the seventh quickest time, 0.020s ahead of Hillspeed's Leandro Juncos, with Juncos' teammate and championship leader Dan Guinchard just a thousandth of a second further back in ninth.

Thomas Ingram Hill completed the qualifying top-10 in his Fortec Motorsports machine, with 1.043s covering the top-10.

With the race two grid determined by each driver's second quickest laps, Kattoulas topped that chart too, with his next best time of 2m00.502s being less than two tenths of a second away from his best. He topped an Elite 1-2-3 on the second best times chart, with Phelps second again and Bansal third.

Hilton, Wilson and Taylor were fourth, fifth and sixth, with Coulthard seventh once more. Guinchard, Ingram Hill and Juncos complete the provisional race two grid.
