KMR Sport’s Harry Burgoyne went from third to first on the first lap to claim his second GB4 win in a row and close the gap to championship leader Linus Granfors in the process at Brands Hatch.
The young Scotsman passed teammate Lucas Blakeley in the first moments of the race, and then capitalised on a moment for pole sitter Granfors at the end of the first tour to take the lead.
He then built a small lead over his teammate, with Blakeley having to settle for second and aiding his teammate’s title charge, though the eventual winning margin of 0.177s was one of the closest in GB4's three seasons of competition.
Alisha Palmowski went from sixth on the grid to run third for most of the race, only for Granfors to pass her on lap nine to reclaim a podium spot, minimising the damage to the Swede's championship lead in the process.
Palmowski had to settle for fourth ahead of Fox Motorsport's Branden Templeton, who got his elbows out in the opening stages to rise to fifth ahead of Elite's Finn Harrison.
Arden's Leon Wilson recovered from a slow start to take seventh ahead of the third KMR car of Chloe Grant.
Callum Baxter (Graham Brunton Racing) and Jack Taylor (Fortec) completed the top-10.
Entering the race, Granfors held a 35-point lead and looked on course to grow the margin as he led the field on lap one. But under big pressure, he went just a fraction wide entering Clark Curve and that was all it took for both Burgoyne and Blakeley to slip through, with Palmowski demoting him further moments later.
While the KMR duo escaped up the road, Palmowski was left to defend from Granfors, and held firm until a slide exiting Stirling's with five minutes remaining, which allowed the Swede to move past on the approach to Clark.
The result means Granfors has a reduced 26-point lead heading into the final day of the season, with Burgoyne moving up to second and Palmowski 12 points further back in third.
