Wilson tops first test day at Snetterton

08 May 2024

Arden Motorsport’s Leon Wilson was the fastest driver as GB4 testing commenced at Snetterton on Wednesday.

The British driver recorded his best time of 1m49.088s in the second of four sessions at the Norfolk venue, and was enough to put him just 0.064s clear of Elite Motorsport’s Finn Harrison, who also recorded his best lap in the same test.

Having topped three of the four sessions, Harrison’s teammate Alisha Palmowski was third fastest on the combined timesheets for the day, with her session three lap being her best, and a quarter of a second away from top spot.

Next up was Idola Motorsport’s Aleksander Mizera, the Polish driver continuing his driver development programme with the team, and improving his lap times by four seconds across the day, and ending up fourth overall with his best time coming at the end of the day, and putting him 1.672s away from Wilson.

Elite Motorsport ran an additional car for a karting graduate, who adapted quickly to Tatuus F4-T014 machinery, bringing their lap times down by over 14 seconds through the four sessions.

Finally, Preptech UK’s Flame Airikkala continued her testing programme with the team, and was another to make strong gains across the day, with her end of day lap being 4.6 seconds better than at the star of the day, on her first visit to the circuit.

Testing continues at the venue tomorrow, ahead of the race event at the circuit in July.
