Shootout winner Brandon McCaughan started life in GB4 in perfect style, by taking a double pole position in qualifying at Oulton Park.
The Irishman's best lap of 1m35.419s towards the end of the session put him 0.070s clear of Elite Motorsport's Alisha Palmowski, with McCaughan's teammate Harry Burgoyne third.
McCaughan headed the times for much of the session, and found ways to trim a few tenths off his best time on each lap. Palmowski took over top spot halfway through the 15 minutes, but McCaughan's last effort was enough to secure his first pole in slicks and wings racing.
His consistency also ensured he took pole for race two, with a time just half a tenth away from his outright best.
Outside the top-three, Finn Harrison was next up for Elite Motorsport, 0.019s clear of Graham Brunton Racing's Callum Baxter, with Fortec's Linus Granfors just 0.045s further back.
Fox Motorsport's car racing debutant Branden Templeton was seventh quickest, and 0.024s clear of Arden's fellow racing newcomer Leon Wilson, with series returnee Chloe Grant ninth for KMR and Aussie Jack Taylor completing the top-10 in his Fortec machine.
The race two grid is equally close, with McCaughan separated by 0.049s on second quickest times. Burgoyne and Harrison are next up once more, with Granfors rising above Baxter, as Wilson jumps above Templeton. The race two grid top-10 is again completed by Grant and Templeton.
The first race of the weekend is due to commence at 17.10.
