Silverstone GB4 test day two: Harrison and Burgoyne battle for top spot

Finn Harrison and Harry Burgoyne battled it out for the fastest time on the final day of pre-season testing at Silverstone, with both topping two sessions on the final day.

Harrison was the pace setter in a wet opening test, before Burgoyne went top as conditions improved in session two. The Scotsman went fastest again in the penultimate session, before Harrison recorded the best time in the fourth test.

On the combined timesheets, the duo were separated by just 0.149s, with Burgoyne’s session three effort proving his best.

Harrison’s teammate Alisha Palmowski completed the top-three thanks to her final session effort, with the top-three separated by just 0.340s.

Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter returned to the venue of his first GB4 test and was just 0.056s further back in fourth place.

Megan Bruce was the lead Fox Motorsport runner in fifth, and within a second of the outright pace, and just 0.089s clear of teammate Branden Templeton, with both setting their best times in session three, as did Baxter.

Dan Hickey was the lead Fortec runner in seventh place, a tenth further back from Templeton, with Leon Wilson next up in the Arden Motorsport car.

Jack Taylor and Flame Airikkala completed the 10 runners who recorded lap times, while Christian Lester returned to the GB4 hot seat with Rossoverde Racing, having last driven the car at Silverstone last summer.
