KMR Sport’s Lucas Blakeley dominated GB4 race two at Silverstone, to claim his second win of the season.
Blakeley started second, but passed pole sitter Linus Granfors on the opening lap and absolutely streaked away, securing the biggest win in GB4 history, over 15 seconds clear of Granfors, who held on to second despite intense pressure and suspension damage.
The winning move came at Copse, as Blakeley went up the inside, leaving Granfors to fend off the attentions of third place starter Alisha Palmowski. The pair made contact exiting Club corner moments later, dropping the latter down the order to sixth, while Granfors held on to second with what was later found to be a bent suspension arm.
The drama allowed Blakeley to pull away at a rapid rate, extending his margin by a couple of seconds on every tour.
Meanwhile Granfors had to seemingly fend off the rest of the pack, with his main title rival Harry Burgoyne putting him under the most pressure, while Elite's Finn Harrison and Palmowski also joined the fight, as did Fox Motorsport's Branden Templeton.
While all behind him was almost constantly changing, Granfors somehow kept hold of second place, finishing just a tenth of a second clear of Burgoyne, while Harrison kept his nose clean to take fourth.
Palmowski had to settle for fifth after her dramas, with Templeton taking sixth having also challenged for the podium spots mid race.
Fortec's Jack Taylor went one better than yesterday to claim seventh ahead of Templeton's teammate Megan Bruce who took a strong eighth.
Newcomer Ava Dobson registered her first top-10 finish for VRD Racing, ahead of KMR's Chloe Grant, who finished 10th despite an early pit stop.
The final race of the weekend is due to commence at 17.12, with Dobson set to start from reverse grid pole.
