What they said: Snetterton qualifying

13 July 2024

Alisha Palmowski, Lucas Blakeley and Harry Burgoyne were the quickest three drivers in the GB4 Qualifying session at Snetterton this morning. Here is how the three of them reacted at the end of the session.

Double pole, Alisha Palmowski, Elite Motorsport:

“I’m just over the moon. I think this is such a difficult circuit to put together a lap at with it being one of the longest circuits on the calendar. Track conditions changed quite a lot with the rain we had so the circuit was quite green but it was about reacting and learning as quickly as possible once we got out on circuit and Elite Motorsport have done a fantastic job. I can’t thank them enough.

“The car was fantastic so I got all my confidence back and fingers crossed for the race. I’m really excited to get started. I think hopefully that’s the rain out of the way for this weekend now, the weather’s looking better for tomorrow as well I think there’s no reason why we can’t keep the pace up there. Just really looking forward to getting some racing underway.”

Second, Lucas Blakeley, KMR Sport:

“In the moment I’m pretty annoyed because I felt like we still had that speed from testing - it definitely translated. Big thanks to KMR Sport for giving me the tools. I was poor with my traffic management in that session and I didn’t really put the cleanest laps together. I feel like the pace was comfortably there but it was me that made the traffic mistake and that’s on me.

“At the end of the day, the car was good. P2 for race one and race two lining up on the front row. I think once I’ve cooled down a bit I’ll be quite happy about that and we’ll work on our races from there.”

Third, Harry Burgoyne, KMR Sport:

“I’m really confident. The track was completely different to yesterday in practice so I feel we’ve got a little bit more in myself with driving and a little bit more in the car and we should be on the pace to hopefully be winning the race and everything. It’s a longer lap, your tyres get more used and everything as the lap goes on so tyre management is going to be pretty hard as well, especially when you’re pushing to try and pass everyone out front!”
