2022 GB4 runner-up Waberski eyes GB3 title in 2024

04 January 2024

Jarrod Waberski, the 2022 GB4 runner-up, is aiming for the GB3 title in 2024 after confirming he'll rejoin the series for the new season, switching to Elite Motorsport.

Waberski won four GB4 races during his first season of racing in the UK, including two at the Donington Park season finale, which vaulted him up into second place in the standings.

The young South African driver moved up into GB3 last year, and was a firm top-10 challenger throughout the campaign, taking a maiden podium at Spa-Francorchamps with Fortec Motorsport.

The 18-year-old is now switching to Elite Motorsport for 2024, and has his eyes set on regular wins as part of a title bid.

"My main goal is to win the championship" he said. "It will be tough as there is always a super strong and competitive field in GB3 but I believe Elite and I can definitely win the championship!"

The 2023 season had its challenges for Waberski, but he learned a lot as a result, which he expects to be of benefit this year.

"The biggest thing I learnt last year was how important it was to be consistent and how important it is to maximise every race.

“Everything just clicked when I joined Elite, with the car and with the whole team! Straight from the first session, I felt at home in their car. It is nice to be back with the team that I had my first ever test with in 2019, in a Ginetta Junior, and so it feels like I’m returning home.

“The way to win the title is all about being consistent, right from the first race to the last one of the season, every qualifying session, every race and every reverse grid race needs to be maximised throughout the season.”
