Elite Motorsport’s Finn Harrison was the driver to beat as a number of GB4 contenders tested at Donington Park today (Thursday) ahead of next weekend’s penultimate round of the season.
Harrison topped the times in three of the four test sessions, with his late afternoon effort of 1m28.596s proving the outright best, 0.345s clear of Arden’s Leon Wilson, who was the only driver to break Harrison’s monopoly at the top with his session three effort.
KMR Sport’s Harry Burgoyne was third quickest, a tenth further back and 0.057s clear of Elite’s three-time race-winner Alisha Palmowski.
Fortec’s Jack Taylor posted the fifth quickest time, ahead of Idola Motorsport’s Aleksander Mizera, with the second Fortec of Dan Hickey a tenth of a second further back.
Ava Dobson returned to GB4 action with VRD Racing and was eighth quickest, ahead of Fox Motorsport’s Ginetta Junior contender Holly Miall, who built up her pace during the day as she got to grips with single-seater machinery.
The new Tatuus MSV GB4-025 was also in action, as testing continued ahead of its introduction next year. Double race-winner Lucas Blakeley was at the wheel in the morning, while British F3 race-winner and GB4 presenter and commentator Piers Prior took over in the afternoon as part of a feature to be included in next weekend’s broadcasts.
