Templeton “would love” to race Tatuus MSV GB4-025

Fox Motorsport’s Branden Templeton got his first taste of the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car at Bedford Autodrome last week, as testing of the new machine ahead of its introduction next year continued.

The Donington Park race-winner, who sits fourth in the GB4 Championship standings at present, could immediately tell that the GB4-025 is an improved car to drive.

“It was amazing! The best car I’ve ever driven. I had the biggest smile on my face, it’s 100 times better than the old car,” he noted.

The Surrey teenager, who has also taken podiums at Oulton Park, Snetterton and Silverstone, recognised the stopping power of the GB4-025 as a key feature of the car.

“The biggest difference I would say was the brakes. They are so much better and more efficient. The car also felt a lot more stable, the car had so much front grip, you could brake so late and carry the speed into the corners . I can’t wait to have a go at one of the circuits we race on.”

Templeton also reported positively on the improved cockpit ergonomics, as well as some of the technical differences, which add to the aural experience.

“I prefer the cockpit of the new car, it feels more secure and the steering wheel is a lot cooler with a better screen and more settings. Of course the halo is a great thing for our safety too.

“The sound of the engine is also so much better than the old one. I also just prefer the way the car handles, I think it’s a lot easier to be aggressive and push the limits compared to the current GB4 car. It just sits on the track a lot nicer and feels planted to the floor.”

His first taste of the new machine has only heightened his desire to drive the GB4-025 in anger next season.

“Oh definitely! I would love to come back next year and race the new car! I’m very grateful to have been given this opportunity, I loved every second.”
